Write for us
We welcome pitches that bring a fresh, well-defined angle to coastal film culture: the places where films are watched, seaside settings on screen, local traditions and the choices that shape a film outing.
What makes a strong pitch
Send a short outline explaining the central idea, why it suits Coastal Movie Guide and what a reader will take away. A good pitch has a clear scope, a distinct point of view and a subject that can be handled responsibly without unsupported claims or unnecessary jargon. Tell us whether the piece is an essay, explainer, comparison, history or occasion-based guide.
Original work and care
We consider original contributions written in clear English. Please identify any relevant interests or material relationships, and make clear which claims need verification. Avoid pitches that rely on invented experience, uncredited borrowed work or advice that requires professional expertise.
How to send a proposal
Send proposals through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a working title and a brief summary in your message. A proposal is not a commission; please wait for a response before sending a full draft.
A film night belongs to its place
The room, the weather outside and the company can all change the feel of a screening. We look at those details without prescribing a perfect way to watch.
